On social media, Naveen Jindal, Member of Parliament (Kurukshetra) and Chairman of Jindal Steel, paid a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s freedom fighters. Extending warm greetings, he said: “Heartfelt wishes to all of you on the 79th Independence Day. The tricolour is our pride, honour, and dignity. Why limit it to just a few special days? Let’s make the tricolour a part of our lives, not just today, but from today onwards. A tricolour in every home, every day. Jai Hind!”
Further extending the spirit of celebration beyond its industrial units, the Jindal Foundation, under the leadership of Chairperson Shallu Jindal, organised a host of community engagement initiatives in nearby schools and villages. These included the distribution of sweets and the organisation of patriotic competitions such as essay writing, debates, and drawing contests, which drew enthusiastic participation from students and villagers alike, reinforcing the company’s close bond with the local community.
A moment of immense pride came when the Jindal Foundation, Barbil, was conferred with the First Prize for Blood Donation among Corporate Houses during the district-level Independence Day celebrations in Keonjhar. The award was presented by Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, adding further glory to the occasion.
The Independence Day celebrations across Jindal Steel’s units concluded with colourful cultural programmes held in the townships of Barbil, Tensa, and Kasia. Employees and their families showcased their talents through patriotic songs, dances, and performances, adding vibrancy to the atmosphere and underscoring the deep emotional connection they share with the nation.
