In a powerful display of unity and patriotism, employees of Jindal Steel have donated Rs 2 crore to the Armed Forces Battle Casualties Welfare Fund, following the success of Operation Sindoor, which decisively dismantled terror infrastructure across the border.
The donation — equivalent to one day’s salary from thousands of employees — was handed over in the form of a cheque by Chairman Naveen Jindal to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at a formal ceremony in the capital on Thursday.
“Our soldiers are the true sentinels of our nation. Their courage, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to protecting India inspire us all. This contribution from the Jindal Steel family is a humble gesture to honour their service and to stand firmly with them and their loved ones,” said Naveen Jindal.
The gesture comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a highly coordinated mission hailed for its strategic precision and impact, further galvanizing national pride and gratitude towards the Armed Forces.
This initiative is part of Jindal Steel’s longstanding legacy of rising to the nation’s call in times of need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company contributed Rs 25 crore to the PM-CARES Fund, supplied free oxygen to hospitals across Delhi, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh, distributed meals and PPE kits, upgraded medical infrastructure, and supported rural women in producing over 1 lakh protective masks. In 2013, following the Kedarnath tragedy, Jindal Steel was among the first corporate responders, providing swift relief and essential supplies to affected regions.
By coming together for this noble cause, the employees of Jindal Steel have once again demonstrated their deep-rooted commitment to national service and solidarity.
As India prepares to celebrate Independence Day, this contribution stands as a timely reminder that the spirit of sacrifice is not limited to the battlefield — it lives on in the hearts of every citizen who chooses to serve in their own way.
