Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) has been conferred with the prestigious Greentech Awards 2025 in two distinguished categories — Agriculture Promotion and Welfare of Elder Persons — at a ceremony held in New Delhi on June 14. The recognition celebrates JSP’s impactful community development initiatives through its social responsibility arm, the Jindal Foundation, marking its deep commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development across India.
Expressing her gratitude, Jindal Foundation Chairperson Shallu Jindal said, “We are deeply humbled to receive these two Greentech Awards. This recognition reinforces our commitment to inclusive development. Whether it is enabling farmers with sustainable techniques or creating dignified spaces for the elderly, our work is driven by a deep sense of responsibility and care. I dedicate this award to our dedicated teams and the resilient communities we serve.”
The Award for Excellence in Agriculture Promotion recognises JSP’s innovative efforts in advancing sustainable agriculture in rural and tribal regions. Through its extensive outreach, the Jindal Foundation has trained over 25,000 farmers in organic farming, soil health management, water-efficient irrigation, and the use of modern agricultural tools. These interventions have improved crop productivity, ensured income security, and promoted ecological balance.
Further amplifying its agricultural mission, Shallu Jindal recently launched a Mobile Soil Testing Laboratory in Angul to support the Foundation’s natural farming initiative, envisioned by Shri Naveen Jindal, Member of Parliament and Chairman of JSP. The Foundation’s Watershed Development and WADI (orchard) initiatives are widely acknowledged as flagship programmes and have been celebrated on national platforms for their innovation and replicability.
JSP was also honoured for its compassionate initiatives in elderly welfare, earning the award in the Welfare of Elder Persons category. The company, through Jindal Foundation, runs a suite of impactful programmes, including mobile health clinics, day-care centres, mental wellness outreach, and home visits — transforming the lives of thousands of senior citizens in underserved rural areas. These services not only improve health outcomes but also address emotional well-being and reduce social isolation.
The Foundation is also collaborating with NGOs to provide nourishment to destitute senior citizens and is currently setting up ‘Jindal Apnaghar’, a model residential home to promote healthy and dignified ageing.
These twin honours at the Greentech Awards 2025 reaffirm JSP and Jindal Foundation’s role as a pioneering force in India’s socio-economic development, integrating sustainability, compassion, and innovation to build resilient and inclusive communities.
