Reliance Jio, Odisha’s leading digital service provider, has achieved yet another major milestone with its fast-growing 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service, JioAirFiber, crossing the 2 lakh subscriber mark in July 2025, according to the latest telecom subscription data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
JioAirFiber has firmly established its dominance in the state’s 5G FWA segment with an impressive 83 per cent market share and over 2.11 lakh subscribers across Odisha. In July alone, Jio added 16,775 new JioAirFiber subscribers, the highest among all operators. The service has played a crucial role in bridging the connectivity gap across rural and semi-urban areas, overcoming last-mile fiber challenges. By providing high-speed broadband, unlimited Wi-Fi, 800+ TV channels, 11+ OTT apps and more, JioAirFiber has transformed digital accessibility for lakhs of students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and families.
Jio’s growth has not been limited to FWA. The company added the highest number of new subscribers across wireless, wireline, and 5G FWA segments in Odisha during July, further cementing its leadership in the state. Collectively, Jio now empowers over 5.58 lakh homes and premises with next-generation broadband and digital entertainment through JioFiber and JioAirFiber.
In the wireline segment, Jio leads with more than 50 per cent subscriber market share, commanding around 3.47 lakh JioFiber subscribers — more than twice that of its nearest competitor. In July, it added 12,898 new JioFiber subscribers, accounting for 73 per cent of all new wireline connections in Odisha that month.
The TRAI report also shows that Jio strengthened its position as Odisha’s largest digital service provider in the mobile segment by adding over 59,000 new subscribers in July, while rivals Airtel and BSNL lost thousands during the same period. With this, Jio’s mobile base in the state has grown to 1.64 crore subscribers, giving it a commanding 46.4 per cent market share.
Notably, Jio recently crossed the 50 crore customer mark in India and emerged as the largest FWA service provider globally, underscoring its growing dominance in both national and international markets.
