India’s largest integrated power utility, NTPC Ltd., has launched a three-month-long Vigilance Awareness Campaign from August 18 to November 17, 2025, in the run-up to Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW).
The campaign was formally inaugurated on August 18, 2025, by Rashmita Jha, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), NTPC, at the SCOPE Complex in New Delhi. Vigilance officers from across NTPC offices joined the programme virtually through video conferencing.
Speaking on the occasion, the CVO emphasized the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” and called upon all vigilance executives to focus on the key areas identified by the Central Vigilance Commission. These include the timely disposal of pending complaints and cases, capacity building through platforms like iGOT Karmayogi, effective asset management, and the strengthening of digital initiatives to enhance transparency.
Jha further highlighted the importance of involving all stakeholders — employees, vendors, and the public — to ensure a wider impact. She encouraged creative outreach through plays, quizzes, videos, jingles, and vendor meets to spread the message effectively. Appreciating the achievements of last year’s campaign, she expressed confidence that this year’s initiative would further reinforce NTPC’s commitment to integrity and transparency.
NTPC Ltd. is India’s largest integrated power utility, meeting nearly one-fourth of the nation’s power needs. With an installed capacity of 83 GW and an additional 30.90 GW under construction — including 13.3 GW of renewable energy capacity — the company has set a target of achieving 60 GW of renewable capacity by 2032.
With a diversified portfolio spanning thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power plants, NTPC remains dedicated to delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity. The company continues to adopt best practices, foster innovation, and embrace clean energy technologies to drive India’s transition toward a greener future.
Beyond power generation, NTPC has also diversified into new business areas, including e-mobility, battery storage, pumped hydro storage, waste-to-energy, nuclear power, and green hydrogen solutions. It has further expanded its role by participating in competitive bidding for the power distribution of Union Territories.
