NTPC Northern Regional HQ hosts Electron Quiz, IIM Lucknow clinches top honours

The NTPC Northern Region Headquarters in Lucknow hosted the Regional Round of the prestigious NTPC Electron Quiz on Saturday, attracting an impressive turnout of 120 teams from 21 leading engineering and management institutes across Uttar Pradesh. The event, known for its intense competition and intellectual rigor, showcased some of the brightest young minds from the state.

In a closely contested quiz that kept the audience on the edge of their seats, the top honours went to the teams from IIM Lucknow. Anirudh Sood and Dhruv Singh emerged victorious, securing first place, while their counterparts Prasant Singh Chauhan and Nishchay Shopurkar claimed second place. IIT-BHU rounded out the top three, with Tejas Singh and Suryansh Singh finishing in third place.

Goutam Deb, Regional Executive Director (North) of NTPC, addressed the gathering, praising the enthusiastic participation of students and the significance of knowledge-driven competitions in shaping the future of young learners. He highlighted that this year’s edition of the Electron Quiz held special importance, coinciding with NTPC’s 51st anniversary, marking over five decades of the company’s contributions to India’s growth. Since its inception in 2004, the Electron Quiz has earned a reputation as a leading platform for student engagement and academic excellence.

The winning teams were awarded their prizes by Rahul Sharma, AGM (HR), in the presence of Quiz Master Gautam Bose and other senior officials from NTPC.

As part of NTPC’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Electron Quiz 2025 is being conducted across nine regional centres – Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Noida, Raipur, and Patna. The top two teams from each region will advance to the National Semi-Finals, with the National Finals set to take place in New Delhi.
