O.P. Jindal School, Angul, celebrated Teachers’ Day with fervour, honouring the invaluable role of educators in shaping future generations. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Damodar Mittal, Executive Director (Projects), Jindal Steel, Angul, and Vice Chairman of the School Management Committee, along with other distinguished guests.
Among the dignitaries present were Col. Sudeep Majee, Vice President (Administration), Jindal Steel, Angul; Col. Manas Khadanga, General Manager (Administration); Seema Malhan and Anita Mittal, Presidents of Jindal Mahila Samiti; besides the school’s Principal, Vice Principal, senior faculty members, and staff.
Principal Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sahu paid tribute to former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, underscoring the significance of the teaching profession in nation-building. Students expressed heartfelt gratitude through a welcome song, poems, speeches, and vibrant dance performances, while teachers also joined in with spirited presentations.
A special highlight of the celebration was the felicitation ceremony, where teachers and staff were honoured for their unwavering commitment to education. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mittal hailed educators as “true nation-builders” who nurture young minds with knowledge, values, and creativity.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Dr. Arun Kumar Dash. With the continued patronage of Chairperson Smt. Shallu Jindal and the Jindal Foundation, the school reaffirmed its mission of delivering holistic education and fostering responsible citizens for the future.
