“Consumers are increasingly seeking personalised and innovative hair colour solutions that are both affordable and hassle-free,” said Neeraj Senguttuvan, Head of Marketing – Personal Care at Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL). “The growth in shampoo hair colour demand is a reflection of this evolving consumer mindset.”
Recognizing this consumer shift, GCPL has introduced Godrej Selfie, a five-minute shampoo hair colour brand catering to both men and women. Available in two affordable pack sizes—₹15 for short hair and ₹30 for long hair—the product aims to provide an accessible upgrade for users of conventional low-cost alternatives.
“This offering not only meets the need for convenience but also encourages consumers to transition from traditional powders and mehndi to a more modern, efficient solution,” added Senguttuvan.
With an impressive growth rate exceeding 32 percent, Odisha’s shampoo hair colour segment is among the fastest-growing in the country. Industry experts believe that this momentum positions the state as a key influencer in shaping the future of India’s hair colour market.
