In a strategic move to modernise cargo operations and boost industrial growth, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has signed a Concession Agreement with AM/NS Ports for the mechanisation of the CQ-III berth, enabling advanced handling of dry bulk cargo. The landmark pact is expected to significantly enhance efficiency, strengthen logistics, and position Paradip Port as a global-standard hub.

The project, structured for a concession period of 30 years, is designed to handle shipments of iron ore pellets from AM/NS India through a fully mechanised conveying system supported by a cutting-edge ship loader and world-class material handling infrastructure. By integrating sustainability and efficiency, the initiative underscores the long-term vision of both organisations to elevate operational benchmarks and reduce environmental impact.

The agreement was formally executed by Himanshu Sekhar Rout, Chief Engineer, PPA, and Subhakant Dash, Authorized Signatory, AM/NS Ports. The signing ceremony drew the presence of P.L. Haranadh, IRTS, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority, and Suresha G, Chief – Odisha Operations, AM/NS India, along with senior executives and employees of both organisations.

Commenting on the occasion, P.L. Haranadh stated that the project marks a transformative step in enhancing berth productivity while promoting eco-friendly coastal cargo handling. He emphasised that such mechanisation projects will accelerate Paradip’s journey towards becoming a leading green and efficient port on the eastern coast.

Reinforcing this vision, Suresha G said, “This partnership represents a defining moment in our mission to modernise port operations and catalyse regional industrial growth. The mechanisation of CQ-III berth will significantly strengthen our operational excellence and reaffirm our commitment to sustainability.”

With this agreement, Paradip Port Authority is set to accelerate its transformation into a world-class maritime hub, while AM/NS India gains a robust logistics advantage that will contribute to both operational resilience and India’s broader industrial growth.
