Paradip Port Authority (PPA) today celebrated World Environment Day 2025 with a host of impactful activities, resonating with this year’s global theme of “Ending Plastic Pollution.” Reinforcing its steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility, PPA organized a mass plantation drive that not only greened the surroundings but also united the local community under a shared environmental cause.

The observance began with an extensive tree plantation campaign near Paradip College. Leading by example, P.L. Haranadh, Chairman of PPA, planted saplings alongside  Nilabhra Dasgupta, Deputy Chairman, PPA. Their active involvement was complemented by the wholehearted participation of department heads, officers from the Environment Cell, PPA employees, township residents, faculty and students of Paradip College, and passionate volunteers from the Paradip Saksharata Samiti (PSS), the Port’s social outreach wing. Together, they contributed to the enhancement of green cover and the promotion of biodiversity in the region.

Through such inclusive and environmentally conscious initiatives, Paradip Port Authority continues to demonstrate its resolve to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. As environmental challenges mount globally, PPA remains a proactive leader in translating environmental awareness into tangible action for the well-being of both nature and society.
