Paradip Port Authority organises ‘Run for Unity’ to mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on Friday organised the “Run for Unity” to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, observed nationwide to honour the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This year’s event held special significance as it coincided with the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, whose vision and leadership were instrumental in uniting the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Capt. Alekh Charan Sahoo, Deputy Chairman (I/c), PPA, paid tribute to Sardar Patel’s remarkable contribution towards national integration and called upon everyone to uphold his ideals of unity, inclusiveness, and harmony. He urged PPA employees to remain committed to the spirit of teamwork and dedication to propel the Port to greater heights in the years ahead.

Following his address, Capt. Sahoo flagged off the “Run for Unity,” which witnessed enthusiastic participation from PPA officers and employees, CISF personnel, sports trainees of GKS, and students from Paradeep College and the Orissa Maritime Academy. The run, which traversed through the Port township, culminated at the Gopabandhu Stadium amidst a spirit of camaraderie and patriotism.
