In a landmark moment that blends sporting excellence with financial leadership, Punjab National Bank (PNB) today announced Indian Women’s Cricket Captain and World Cup Champion Harmanpreet Kaur as its first-ever female brand ambassador. The announcement marked a significant step in the Bank’s ongoing brand transformation and its vision of “Banking On Champions.”
The grand ceremony held at PNB’s Corporate Office was graced by Chief Guest M. Nagaraju, Secretary (Financial Services), along with senior bank leadership, including MD & CEO Ashok Chandra, Executive Directors M. Paramasivam, Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra, Shri D. Surendran, Amit Kumar Srivastava, CVO Raghavendra Kumar, and other top officials. Harmanpreet Kaur received a ceremonial framed PNB jersey bearing her name and number, along with a custom-engraved PNB bat, symbolising her new innings with the Bank.
In her very first act as brand ambassador, Harmanpreet joined M. Nagaraju and Ashok Chandra in unveiling four major financial products — PNB RuPay Metal Credit Card Luxura, PNB One 2.0, Digi Surya Ghar, and PNB’s onboarding on the International Bullion Exchange (IIBX). The launches underscored PNB’s commitment to innovation, customer-centricity, and a strong digital-first approach.
Speaking at the event, M. Nagaraju lauded Harmanpreet’s historic achievements, saying she had made India proud by leading the women’s team to its first-ever World Cup win. He also praised PNB’s initiatives, particularly its MSME campaign and the introduction of the new metal credit card aimed at elite customers, while expressing satisfaction over PNB’s onboarding on the IIBX for online gold bullion trading.
Harmanpreet Kaur, reflecting on her long-standing association with PNB, said it was an emotional milestone to represent the very bank where she opened her first account at 18. She expressed pride in joining hands with an institution that has helped millions fulfil their financial aspirations and emphasised her commitment to inspiring young talent across India. She also announced herself as the first customer of the newly launched PNB Metal Credit Card Luxura.
PNB MD & CEO Ashok Chandra described Harmanpreet’s induction as a historic moment for the Bank, noting that her leadership and resilience perfectly capture PNB’s ethos. He highlighted Luxura — the Bank’s first metal credit card—as a premium offering designed to redefine luxury for elite customers through unmatched privileges, reward points, and exclusive hospitality benefits at global hotel chains including Hyatt, Marriott, Four Seasons, Hilton, and Accor.
Alongside the premium credit card, PNB also rolled out PNB One 2.0, a revamped version of its flagship mobile app, and Digi Surya Ghar, a fully digital platform for rooftop solar financing. The Bank’s onboarding on the IIBX further strengthened its portfolio in gold bullion trading.
The celebrations featured a rapid-fire interaction with Harmanpreet, cultural programmes, and a tree-plantation drive. In a particularly inspiring gesture, ten young female cricketers were presented with PNB-branded cricket kits autographed by Harmanpreet, encouraging them to chase their sporting dreams with confidence. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by PNB Executive Director Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra.
