PPA marks Constitution Day with renewed call to uphold democratic values

The Paradip Port Authority on Tuesday observed Constitution Day, commemorating 76 years since the adoption of the Indian Constitution, with a pledge to strengthen democratic values and promote a just society.

Leading the observance, Chairman P. L. Haranadh read out the Preamble to officials and employees, underscoring its timeless relevance. He urged everyone to work collectively toward building a more equitable society, stressing that “a strong democracy is essential for the Nation’s progress and prosperity.”

Calling the Constitution “a testament to the vision of our founding fathers,” Haranadh highlighted its role as the bedrock of India’s democratic framework, safeguarding fundamental rights and duties while upholding justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. He reaffirmed PPA’s commitment to the values enshrined in the Constitution.

Adding youthful energy to the commemoration, students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Paradip Port joined the programme with a collective reading of the Preamble. The event also included a quiz on constitutional values and a special film screening aimed at deepening students’ understanding of India’s democratic principles.

The day-long observance reflected a shared resolve among PPA officials, employees and students to honour and uphold the spirit of the Constitution, reinforcing its guiding principles for the nation’s continued growth and harmony.
