Reliance Consumer Products enters functional beverages market with majority stake in Naturedge Beverages’ Shunya brand

Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has announced its entry into the fast-growing healthy functional beverages market through the acquisition of a majority stake in a Joint Venture with Naturedge Beverages Private Limited. With this strategic move, RCPL aims to strengthen its positioning as a Total Beverage Company by offering consumers a wider range of herbal-natural, health-oriented drinks. The functional beverages segment is witnessing exponential growth, driven by rising consumer preference for healthier and more natural alternatives.

Founded in 2018 by Siddhesh Sharma, a third-generation entrepreneur from the trusted Baidyanath Group — one of India’s oldest and most respected Ayurvedic product manufacturers — Naturedge Beverages has been at the forefront of blending India’s Ayurvedic wisdom with modern beverage formats. Its flagship brand ‘Shunya’ has quickly carved a niche in the Indian market as a herb-infused functional drink with zero sugar and zero calories.
