Reliance launches multi-faceted seva campaign to enrich Rath Yatra experience for devotees

As the sacred city of Puri prepares for the world-famous Rath Yatra, Reliance Industries Limited, in close collaboration with the Puri district administration, has rolled out a robust and compassionate set of initiatives aimed at enhancing the pilgrimage experience for lakhs of devotees. Drawing inspiration from its “We Care” philosophy, Reliance Foundation is actively supporting the 13-day celebration with a comprehensive service program rooted in seva, safety, and sustainability.

With lakhs expected to witness the divine procession of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple, Reliance Foundation has stepped forward to serve both the pilgrims and the police personnel who ensure order during this massive gathering.

Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited, Anant M Ambani, emphasized the spiritual significance of their efforts, stating, “Seva is deeply rooted in Reliance’s ethos. Serving the devotees of Lord Jagannath is akin to serving divinity itself. We are humbled by the opportunity to support this sacred tradition.”

Key interventions include the distribution of hot, nutritious meals through Anna Seva at six major locations, benefiting lakhs of devotees and security personnel. Hygiene and sanitation have been prioritized with contactless sanitizer stations, garbage management systems, and sanitation facilities at police camps. Over 4,000 trained volunteers in uniform have been deployed to guide pilgrims, manage crowds, and maintain hydration stations along the route.

Understanding the challenges posed by the summer heat, Reliance is distributing over 1.5 lakh eco-friendly hand fans. To support on-ground police efforts, 100 aid posts with shelters have been established, alongside the provision of 3,500 raincoats for the monsoon season and refreshment kits for frontline staff.

This effort follows Reliance’s impactful seva during Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, where the foundation served lakhs with food, medical, and transport support. The Rath Yatra campaign further reflects Reliance Foundation’s unwavering commitment to enhancing public welfare during major spiritual events.
