Shyam Metalics, a leading integrated metal producer, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with pride and patriotic fervour across all its units, uniting employees, their families, and local communities in honour of the nation’s journey of freedom. From West Bengal to Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, the celebrations were marked by the ceremonial hoisting of the Tricolour, cultural programmes, and activities symbolising unity, responsibility, and progress.

At the Sambalpur unit in Odisha, this year’s celebrations carried special significance. The day began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by a disciplined parade by the company’s security personnel. Senior leaders addressed the gathering, reflecting on Shyam Metalics’ milestones in growth and production while unveiling a major green initiative — the plantation of 20,000 saplings in and around the plant this year — underscoring the group’s long-term commitment to sustainability. A reward and recognition ceremony was also organised to honour employees for their outstanding contributions.

Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Brij Bhushan Agarwal, Chairman & Managing Director, Shyam Metalics, said, “Independence Day is more than a national celebration; it is a reminder of the values that bind us together with resilience, unity, and responsibility. At Sambalpur, the celebrations were especially meaningful as we not only advanced our sustainability vision with the plantation of 20,000 saplings but also highlighted our growth milestones. The day was marked by recognising the stellar contributions of our employees, underlining the transformative role of technologies such as Machine Learning and AI in steel production, and spreading joy among children in nearby schools. Together, we are building a future that is innovative, inclusive, and sustainable.”

With vibrant celebrations at Sambalpur and other units, Shyam Metalics once again reaffirmed its ethos of inclusivity, pride, and progress. The 79th Independence Day observance not only strengthened the bond between employees and communities but also reinforced the company’s vision of nation-building through sustainability, innovation, and shared responsibility.
