Tata Power reported a robust 25 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,306.09 crore for the March quarter of FY25, driven by a strong performance across its core verticals of power generation, transmission and distribution (T&D), and renewables.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,045.59 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing. Total income for the quarter also saw healthy growth, rising to Rs 17,446.95 crore from Rs 16,463.94 crore a year earlier.

Demonstrating its ongoing growth momentum, Tata Power recorded its 22nd consecutive profitable quarter. The company’s EBITDA for Q4 FY25 surged 14 per cent year-on-year to Rs 3,829 crore, supported by robust operational efficiency across all business segments. Core business PAT grew by an impressive 52 per cent to Rs 1,541 crore.

For the full fiscal year 2024-25, Tata Power clocked its highest-ever annual revenue of Rs 64,502 crore, with consolidated net profit rising 26 per cent to Rs 5,197 crore — crossing the Rs 5,000-crore milestone for the first time. Annual EBITDA stood at a record Rs 14,468 crore, up 14 per cent year-on-year.

The board of directors has recommended a final dividend of Rs 2.25 per equity share for FY25. Subject to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting on July 4, the dividend will be paid starting July 7, 2025.

The company commissioned over 2.5 GW of renewable capacity in FY25, including 1 GW of in-house utility-scale projects, 600 MW of rooftop solar, and 900 MW for third-party clients.

Tata Power’s solar rooftop segment reached a significant milestone of 1.5 lakh installations, contributing to a total installed rooftop solar capacity of 3 GW.

Its integrated manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu produced 3,291 MW of solar modules and 846 MW of cells in the year.

The distribution business posted a standout performance, with Q4 PAT from the segment surging 73 per cent YoY, largely fuelled by the exceptional showing of the Odisha DISCOMs. Their PAT tripled to Rs 275 crore in the quarter, backed by improved billing, collection efficiencies, and reduced expected credit loss (ECL) provisions.

Commenting on the performance, Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, said: “FY25 has been a landmark year for Tata Power. For the first time, we crossed 1 GW in renewable additions in a single year, and we’re now targeting 2 GW in FY26. Our strategy of growth with sustainability is delivering strong results across all verticals — from rooftop solar to DISCOMs and utility-scale projects.”
