TPCODL strengthens Odisha’s power network with inauguration of APSCC-BBSR-2 Circle in Puri

TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has taken a major stride in strengthening the state’s electricity distribution network with the inauguration of the new Area Power System Control Centre (APSCC-BBSR-2) at Talabania, Puri.

The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated by Sunil Kumar Mohanty, MLA, Puri, in the presence of Arvind Singh, CEO, TPCODL, along with senior officials of the company. The launch marks a significant milestone in modernising distribution operations and improving consumer services in the region.

By centralising 11 kV operations, which were earlier managed through decentralised divisional APSCCs, the new control centre will enable seamless monitoring of the distribution network, faster outage response and more efficient management of consumer service needs. All remote- and locally-operated PSS under the BBSR-2 Circle will be progressively brought under the control of this new centre.

Equipped with advanced technology and real-time monitoring systems, the APSCC-BBSR-2 Circle is expected to greatly enhance operational efficiency, provide improved network visibility, and ensure quicker restoration during interruptions. Consumers across Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh and Balugaon divisions will benefit directly from more reliable and uninterrupted power supply.

Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Singh, CEO, TPCODL, said, “The inauguration of APSCC-BBSR-2 Circle is a significant step towards strengthening our distribution network and enhancing consumer services.
