Tree plantation drive and street play on “Swachhta Awareness” held at NTPC Northern Region Headquarters

As part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada campaign being observed from May 16 to 31, 2025, a tree plantation drive was organized on May 30 at the NTPC Northern Region Headquarters (NRHQ) premises in Lucknow.

The event was led by N. S. Rao, Regional Executive Director (North), in the esteemed presence of Samiran Sinha Ray, Regional Head of HR. The initiative also saw active participation from Heads of Departments, senior officials, and employees. The plantation drive aimed to promote environmental conservation and reinforce the message of sustainability and green living.

In addition to the plantation activity, street plays (nukkad nataks) were performed at two key locations to spread awareness about cleanliness and hygiene. The first performance took place at Charbagh Railway Station in collaboration with Northern Railway, and was attended by officials from both NTPC and Northern Railway. The second was conducted near the NRHQ premises.

These engaging performances served as an impactful medium to connect with the public and convey the importance of maintaining cleanliness in daily life. The street plays encouraged individuals to take personal responsibility for their surroundings and promoted community participation in cleanliness initiatives, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable and hygienic practices.
