Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, reaffirmed its commitment to quality healthcare access in underserved regions by organizing a mega multi-speciality health camp under its flagship CSR initiative, Project Aarogya. The camp reached 15 villages under the Gobardhanpur Gram Panchayat, deep in the interiors of Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

Conducted during the peak monsoon season—when rural communities are especially prone to seasonal illnesses—the health camp provided timely and accessible medical care to over 350 patients. With support from specialists in paediatrics, general medicine, gynaecology, and allied fields, the camp addressed immediate medical needs while also promoting preventive healthcare practices.

Speaking about the initiative, Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO – Vedanta Alumina Business, said: “At Vedanta Lanjigarh, we are committed to uplifting communities through sustainable healthcare interventions. This mega health camp is part of our preventive approach to ensure timely medical support, particularly in remote areas. Through Project Aarogya, we continue to make a meaningful impact by bringing essential healthcare to the doorstep of the underserved.”

Project Aarogya, Vedanta Lanjigarh’s flagship healthcare program, has been instrumental in improving health outcomes in the region. In FY 2024-25, over 660 Mobile Health Unit (MHU) visits were conducted, delivering doorstep medical services to more than 20,500 individuals across remote villages. Additionally, more than 680 community awareness sessions were held, reaching over 15,000 people with vital information on hygiene, wellness, and disease prevention.

Vedanta Lanjigarh remains steadfast in its mission to enable last-mile healthcare access and continues to play a vital role as a responsible development partner in Odisha’s tribal heartland.
