The Azim Premji Foundation has launched the Azim Premji Health Equity Fellowship, a transformative 18-month learning programme designed for postgraduate doctors passionate about serving in rural India. This unique initiative is a collaborative effort with 11 leading health institutions across the country, aimed at nurturing medical professionals who can drive equitable healthcare delivery in underserved communities.

Through this fellowship, doctors will gain invaluable frontline experience by working directly with patients in rural settings. The programme offers exposure to a diverse range of medical cases, guided mentorship from senior clinicians, and opportunities to develop both strong clinical skills and a deep understanding of the structural barriers to healthcare access.

Fellows will engage with communities, collaborate with seasoned healthcare professionals, and contribute to designing sustainable, impactful solutions. The fellowship also connects participants to a wider network of like-minded individuals committed to improving health equity across India.
