Odisha took centre stage at the India Maritime Week 2025 as the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) announced a series of landmark agreements aimed at propelling the state’s maritime and industrial growth. During the Odisha State Session held on Monday, PPA signed five major Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth over ₹2,300 crore with key partners from government and industry, underscoring Odisha’s emergence as a pivotal maritime hub on India’s eastern coast.

The MoUs encompass crucial areas such as port connectivity, coastal tourism, logistics infrastructure, and renewable energy, aligning closely with the Government of India’s Maritime India Vision 2030. These agreements highlight PPA’s forward-looking approach to building a sustainable, technology-driven, and globally competitive port ecosystem.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the India Maritime Week 2025 and visited the Paradip Port Authority’s exhibition stall, where he was warmly received by PPA Chairman P. L. Haranadh. The Chief Minister engaged in detailed discussions with the Chairman on Paradip Port’s expanding role in India’s Blue Economy, particularly focusing on the proposed Bahuda Port project and the development of a world-class cruise terminal at Puri.

Among the major agreements signed, the ₹500-crore Puri Cruise Terminal Project was inked between the Paradip Port Authority and the Odisha Maritime Board, with Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary to the Government of Odisha, and the PPA Chairman, serving as signatories. The Bahuda Port Rail Connectivity Project, valued at ₹1,000 crore, was formalized between PPA and Paradip Railway Corporation Ltd., signed by Manoj Kumar Senwal, Managing Director, PRCL, and P. L. Haranadh. Another landmark collaboration, the Maritime Museum & Logistics Park Project worth ₹300 crore, was signed between PPA and the Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Ltd., with the same signatories.

Further strengthening its trade and industrial partnerships, PPA signed a ₹280-crore Cargo Export-Import Project with IFFCO, represented by K. N. Nayak, Senior General Manager (TS & Port Operations), and P. L. Haranadh. In the field of green energy, the Green Hydrogen Mobility Project valued at ₹263 crore was signed between PPA and NTPC, represented by Kotheri Pride, General Manager, NTPC, and DC/Dy. Chairman, PPA.

These five strategic collaborations collectively reflect Paradip Port Authority’s commitment to advancing Odisha’s maritime landscape through innovation, sustainability, and strong institutional partnerships. By integrating green energy initiatives, expanding connectivity, and promoting tourism, Paradip Port continues to anchor Odisha’s transformation into a dynamic centre of maritime excellence and economic progress.
