Reinforcing its dominance as Odisha’s leading digital service provider, Reliance Jio has recorded the highest addition of new mobile subscribers in the state for August 2025, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Jio added an impressive 1.49 lakh new mobile users during the month, taking its total subscriber base in Odisha beyond 1.65 crore and capturing a commanding 46.5 percent market share.
The surge was largely driven by the growing adoption of the ultra-affordable JioBharat 4G phone, which continues to enable thousands of 2G users, especially in rural and remote areas, to migrate to high-speed 4G networks. The overall mobile subscriber base in Odisha grew by 2.46 lakh during August, crossing 3.56 crore users by the end of the month.
On the national front, Jio maintained its momentum as India’s top telecom operator, adding over 19.49 lakh new mobile subscribers in August — the highest among all service providers across the country.
Beyond mobile services, Jio has also consolidated its dominance in the 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) segment in Odisha. As of August 2025, the company reported over 2.26 lakh 5G FWA and 25,851 UBR FWA subscribers in the state — far ahead of its competitors. This growth underscores Jio’s strong foothold across the wireless, wireline, and FWA categories, powered by its extensive 4G and 5G network presence across Odisha.
