In the run-up to International Day of Yoga, the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) launched a series of eco-friendly activities under its “Harit Yoga” initiative, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and holistic well-being.
A cleanliness drive was carried out on Thursday at the creek side of the Mausi Maa Temple, where PPA employees, local community members, and volunteers came together to remove accumulated waste and restore the natural beauty of the sacred site. The initiative not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the area but also emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy ecosystem.
In another green effort, a significant plantation drive was conducted at Golden Jubilee Park. The event saw enthusiastic participation and reflected PPA’s commitment to environmental conservation through community involvement.
As part of the pre-Yoga Day activities, Paradip Saksharata Samiti — the social arm of PPA — in collaboration with the Art of Living Foundation, also organized a yoga session for local school students at the Officers’ Club. The session aimed to instill the values of wellness and mindfulness among the younger generation.
The successful conduct of these initiatives sets the tone for the grand celebration of International Day of Yoga on June 21 at Gopabandhu Stadium. PPA’s ongoing efforts under “Harit Yoga” reinforce its vision of fostering a healthier, greener, and more harmonious community.
