BONGAIGAON, JUNE 16, 2025
In the run-up to the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY), NTPC Bongaigaon has reaffirmed its commitment to holistic well-being by organizing a six-day yoga workshop under its Ahwahan Policy, embracing this year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” Held within its township premises, the initiative aims to inspire a healthier, more mindful lifestyle among employees, their families, and the wider community.
The workshop was formally inaugurated by Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, who highlighted yoga as a timeless bridge between personal health and planetary harmony. Maitra noted that such wellness initiatives extend beyond physical fitness, serving as a reflection of NTPC’s broader vision of cultivating a resilient and balanced workforce aligned with sustainable living.
Leading the sessions was Madhusudan Pramanik, a former NTPC employee, certified yoga guru, and member of the Indian Yoga Association. His expert guidance infused the workshop with a rich blend of traditional and practical elements, including guided meditation, asanas, and breathing techniques tailored to modern work-life demands.
The inaugural day saw enthusiastic participation from senior NTPC officials such as Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M); Arun Kumar Singh, GM (FM); and Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club. Employees, CISF personnel, club office bearers, and township residents joined in large numbers, reinforcing NTPC Bongaigaon’s strong culture of community engagement and collective well-being.
More than a series of physical exercises, the event symbolized unity, sustainability, and mindful living. It also mirrored the national spirit fostered by the Ministry of Ayush, which initiated the global observance of IDY.
NTPC’s week-long celebrations will culminate on June 21 with a special observance of International Day of Yoga, marking a significant stride in the company’s ongoing efforts to integrate wellness into everyday life.
