In a significant move poised to drive operational excellence and innovation, Ravindra Kumar has officially assumed the role of Director (Operations) at NTPC Limited, effective February 26th, 2024. Prior to the new assignment, he was Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Director (Operations).
With a formidable academic background including a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from BIT Sindri in 1988, Ravindra Kumar’s journey with NTPC Limited spans over three decades, marked by a rich tapestry of experiences and accomplishments. Rising through the ranks from a Graduate Engineer Trainee Officer in 1989, Kumar’s trajectory has been nothing short of illustrious.
His tenure as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) witnessed the successful development and execution of the groundbreaking 660 MW 1st Unit of the Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL), a testament to his visionary leadership and technical prowess. Moreover, his stint as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited underscored his ability to drive forward construction and erection endeavours with unwavering determination.
Beyond his operational acumen, Kumar’s people-centric approach and comprehensive understanding of the power sector position him as a catalyst for organizational growth and transformation. His multifaceted experience, ranging from commissioning and O&M to project management and corporate strategy, equips him with a holistic perspective crucial for steering NTPC Limited towards greater heights.
