SAIL introduces innovative HR policies to foster continuous learning and development

NEW DELHI, MAY 14, 2024 (TBB BUREAU):  In a bid to nurture a culture of continuous learning and growth, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) unveiled several progressive Human Resource (HR) initiatives on Tuesday in New Delhi. Spearheaded by SAIL Chairman Amarendu Prakash, these initiatives aim to empower employees while enhancing their professional skills and work-life balance.

One of the flagship initiatives introduced is the Work from Other than Workplace (WoW) policy, allowing employees to engage in prescribed self-development activities outside the traditional workspace. Chairman Prakash emphasized that this novel approach enables staff to focus on strategic responsibilities while investing in their personal and professional development.

KK Singh, Director (Personnel) at SAIL, highlighted the organization’s commitment to employee motivation and engagement through innovative HR strategies. Singh noted that the WoW policy represents a significant step forward in this endeavor.

In addition to the WoW policy, SAIL has partnered with LinkedIn Learning Hub to offer self-paced learning opportunities for its workforce. This collaboration aims to equip employees with diverse skill sets and knowledge on various subjects, promoting continuous professional development.

The unveiling of these initiatives follows SAIL’s recent certification as a “Great Place To Work” by the Great Place To Work Institute, India, reaffirming its reputation as an esteemed employer dedicated to fostering a conducive work environment for its staff.
