In view of this spirit, for development of the local community, skill development plays an important part towards self-reliance and empowerment. NTPC Coal Mining has taken up the initiative to sponsor 80 project-affected youths including 4 girls from all coal mining projects and its vicinity located in Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh for skill development in association with Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Ranchi.
This skill development program was inaugurated at CIPET, Ranchi on October 22 by NTPC Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) Partha Mazumder in the presence of CIPET-Ranchi Joint Director & Head Pravin Bachhav, and NTPC Head of Project (Pakri Barwadih) Shivam Srivastava, Head of Project (Taliapalli) SK Ray, Head of Project (Kerendari) Faiz Taiyab, Head of Project (Chattibariatu) BM Singh, GM(HR) KS Murthy, GM (Safety & Mining) Amit Kumar Dubey and GM (Technical Services) TK Konar.
During the training, CIPET will provide job-oriented skill development training to the youth in Machine Operator – Plastic Processing and Machine Operator – Injection Moulding.
Speaking on the occasion, NTPC Regional Executive Director Mazumder said that everyday use of products made up of plastic other than single use plastic is extensive which shows the market is large, and so demand for jobs in this field is very encouraging.
Addressing the students enrolled for the course, Mazumder shared that CIPET is a very good institute in the field of plastic engineering, which will provide a better opportunity to learn and develop skills during this six-month program and will facilitate employment as well as entrepreneurship. So, all the students should dedicate their maximum time in learning the course and utilize the facilities of machineries, laboratories etc. available at CIPET, Ranchi.
On the occasion, Head of NTPC Coal Mining projects and senior officials shared their views and conveyed good wishes to the students for successful completion of the course and to inspire others with their success story.
Prior to the inaugural program, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining), BUHs of Coal mining Projects and senior officials of NTPC Coal Mining projects visited CIPET campus and its workshopS, laboratories to learn about the academic and industry facilities.
