NTPC Swayamsiddha Ladies Club distributes books to encourage reading habits among children


RANCHI, JUNE 14, 2022

As part of its CSR initiative, Swayamsiddha Ladies Club of NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters, Ranchi on Tuesday distributed books to children of Marwari School, here in its bid to encourage reading habits among children.

On the occasion, Swayamsiddha Ladies Club President Mahua Mazumder, while interacting with the school children, enquired about the type of books they like to read other than academic books.  In reply, children shared that they prefer to read literature, history and biography etc. 

She appreciated the efforts of children to have a likeness to read books especially in the disruptive age of internet and social media. “Reading a book is always special for a book reader even though the same is available digitally,” said Mazumder.

She informed that a good collection of books by eminent writers has been distributed among the children which will help in inculcating reading habit, improve their vocabulary and knowledge which has become essential in the modern age as we are drifting more towards digitization.

Mazumder concluded her address by stating, “A good reader will always become a good speaker due to regular reading habit; so be a good book reader to prosper in life.” Later, she took the initiative of distributing the books to the children and the committee members of Swayamsiddha Ladies Club joined her later.

Marwari School Principal Ashish Kumar and teachers lauded the initiative of distribution of books which will provide a good opportunity to promote reading habits among children and enhance their knowledge to become successful.
