Centurion University organises training on pearl culture

The Centurion University of Technology & Management, Bhubaneswar in association with the Society for Agricultural Research & Management (SARM) organized a hands-on training on “Pearl Culture” at CUTM Campus, here on Thursday.

The training programme was organized under the chairmanship of CUTM Dean (SoAS) Dr. Yashaswi Nayak. Manoj Kumar Bisoi, an Agripreneur from Samantarapur Village of Cuttack district joined as the Resource person.

B.Sc. and M.Sc. students from Botany and Zoology Departments participated in the programme in large numbers.

Advantages of pearl farming, grafting, farming methodology, market demand of pearls, feeding process, and tank disinfecting techniques were the major topics which were discussed.

“To be a successful Agripreneur one should have dedication, sincerity, punctuality and strong will power,” said Bisoi while addressing the participating students.

Dr. Gyanranjan Mahalik, Head of Department of Botany; Prof. Siba Prasad Parida, Dr. Gagan K Panigrahi and Dr. Pradip K Prusty from the Department of Zoology; Debashish Ray Mohapatra, Senior Manager, E&S, and Garden Supervisor Somnath were present on the occasion.

Dibyanshu Prasad Das, Secretary, SARM coordinated the training program.
