Colliers India secures Rs 220 Cr design & build turnkey contract from EPIC Designers for its first manufacturing unit in Odisha

Global diversified professional services and investment management company Colliers has clinched a significant Rs 220 crore Design & Build Turnkey assignment from EPIC Designers, a Hong Kong-based sustainable fashion company, to establish its inaugural manufacturing unit in India. EPIC Group has acquired 40 acres of land at the IDCO Industrial Estate in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, with plans to construct a state-of-the-art facility aligning with its future business objectives and enabling efficient operations.

Renowned for its commitment to modern technology and global sustainability practices in the apparel industry, EPIC Group aims to make its new unit completely Net Positive in energy and water. The facility’s landscaping will feature numerous green spaces and zen gardens. Emphasizing sustainable material sourcing, waste reduction, and carbon footprint mitigation, this garment factory promises to revolutionize the apparel industry in India. EPIC Group plans to employ over 6000 individuals to manage the facility.

Indranil Basu, Managing Director of Project Management at Colliers India, expressed confidence in delivering an exceptional project meeting quality and design standards. He stated, “The facility, managed by EPIC Group’s subsidiary, Trimetro Garments India, adheres to global benchmarks and boasts cutting-edge facilities worldwide. With our extensive experience and distinguished technical and strategic capabilities, we are well-prepared to undertake this significant assignment.”

The first phase of the project, spanning 338,000 sq. ft., is slated for completion by May 2025, with future expansion plans covering an additional 381,236 sq. ft. Basu expressed excitement about commencing this notable assignment and anticipated a lasting partnership with EPIC Group.

Ranjan Mahtani, Executive Chairman of EPIC Group, shared his enthusiasm about the venture, stating, “We are delighted to announce plans for our inaugural manufacturing facility in India. Mahtani highlighted Odisha’s pro-business environment and strategic location as key factors in choosing the state for this significant investment. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s administration and leverage the abundance of qualified workers in the state as operations ramp up over the coming years. Mahtani emphasized the company’s commitment to people and the planet as it expands its global footprint through this new factory.
