Daikin targets 50pc growth, over Rs 200 Cr turnover in Odisha in FY25

BHUBANESWAR, APRIL 12, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Daikin Air Conditioning India Pvt. Ltd. (DAIPL), a fully owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd., Japan, is eyeing significant growth in Odisha, aiming for a turnover of over Rs 200 crore and a 50 per cent increase in the current financial year (FY25), revealed a senior executive of the company on Friday.

Senior Vice President & Executive Director of Daikin India, Kuldeepak Virmani, disclosed the company’s ambitious plans while launching a range of new air-conditioning products in the Odisha market, with the goal of dominating the room air conditioner market segment. Virmani highlighted the remarkable surge in Daikin’s turnover in Odisha, from Rs 50 crore in FY22 to Rs 150 crore in FY24. For the current financial year (FY25), the company is targeting a turnover of Rs 220-225 crore, and aiming to surpass Rs 300 crore by FY26, he added.

Virmani emphasized the tremendous growth potential of the Eastern India market, projecting it to reach Rs 2000 crore by FY 2024-25. In response to this growth trajectory, Daikin India plans to introduce new products and expand its dealer network extensively. With robust infrastructure and housing development in the region, there is a high demand for smart and energy-efficient air-conditioning solutions.

Currently holding a market share of 12.5 per cent in Odisha, Daikin India aims to secure a 20 per cent market share by the end of FY 24-25. Virmani highlighted the technological superiority of Daikin products, which offer lower ownership costs, unmatched quality, and durability.

Virmani expressed Daikin India’s commitment to aggressive expansion across Odisha, leveraging the new product launches to capture a significant market share. The company is dedicated to providing consumers with an unparalleled experience through a network of highly trained sales, service, and maintenance professionals, supported by its strong dealer network and employees.

In line with the Skill India Initiative, Daikin, the world’s No. 1 air-conditioning company, has established an Air-conditioning / HVAC lab at Bhubaneswar Institute of Industrial Technology (BIIT), Bhubaneswar. The Daikin Centre of Excellence, managed by BIIT, aims to elevate training standards in Air Conditioning to international levels. Virmani stated that deserving students may be considered for placement opportunities in Daikin or its channel partners through internships, live projects, or fixed-term employment contracts.

Sayan Basu, Regional Marketing Manager (East) – Daikin India and Satyaketan Mishra, Branch Operations Manager, Bhubaneswar were also present on the occasion.
