Dhamra Port and IIT Bhubaneswar forge collaborative alliance to fuel innovation and entrepreneurship

In a groundbreaking initiative, the IIT Bhubaneswar Research and Entrepreneurship Park and The Dhamra Port Co. Ltd. (DPCL) solidified their partnership on Sunday through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signalling a commitment to bolstering joint efforts in research, training, capacity building, and entrepreneurship.

The momentous occasion took place during the inauguration of the 100 Cube Start-up Initiative at the IIT Bhubaneswar Research and Entrepreneurship Park. This strategic collaboration aims to harness the distinctive strengths and expertise of both entities to drive innovation and cultivate a thriving entrepreneurial landscape.

Dhamra Port CEO Devendra Thakar and IIT Bhubaneswar Director Shreepad Karmalkar signed the MoU.

Under the purview of this agreement, both entities pledge to embark on collaborative research endeavours, comprehensive training programs, and robust support for burgeoning start-ups. The scope of their partnership encompasses a diverse array of projects designed to propel technology transfer, foster cutting-edge innovation, and nurture a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem within the industry.

Dr. Debi Prosad Dogra, Independent Director of IIT Bhubaneswar Research and Entrepreneurship Park, expressed fervent optimism about the partnership, affirming, “We are thrilled to unite with DPCL in fostering a climate of innovation and entrepreneurship. Through the synergistic fusion of our resources and expertise, we aspire to expedite technological advancements and stimulate sustainable industry growth.”

Echoing this sentiment, Devendra Thakar, CEO of DPCL, underscored the transformative potential of the collaboration, stating, “This alliance underscores our unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and empowering the evolution of start-ups and entrepreneurs. Effective immediately upon signing, the MoU will be operational for a period of five years.

The formalization of this MoU heralds a pivotal milestone in the shared journey towards nurturing innovation, driving pioneering research, and fostering entrepreneurial zeal. Leveraging their complementary strengths and pooling resources, IIT Bhubaneswar and DPCL stand poised to generate meaningful impact and shape the trajectory of the industry for years to come.
