Dwijadas Basak appointed TPNODL CEO

Tata Power Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) has announced the appointment of Dwijadas Basak as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from February 24, 2024. Basak takes over the role from Bhaskar Sarkar, who has transitioned to explore new opportunities outside the Tata Power Group.

Bringing over three decades of experience in power distribution management, Basak assumes the CEO position with a wealth of expertise. Prior to joining TPNODL, Basak served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPCODL), where he played a pivotal role in driving operational excellence.

A seasoned electrical engineer, Basak has held various leadership positions within the Tata Power Group. Before his assignment in Odisha, he served as the Chief Commercial and Social Impact Group at Tata Power-DDL in New Delhi.

Expressing his gratitude for the appointment, Basak stated, “I am thankful to the Board of TPNODL for providing me the opportunity to serve the Discom and look forward to continuing to serve our customers, with a focus on operational excellence, collaboration, and innovation. We remain committed to providing 24/7 reliable and quality power supply to our customers in Northern Odisha.”

Basak graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, formerly known as Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur. He is also a fellow member of the Institution of Engineers (India).

TPNODL serves a population of 97 lakh with a customer base of more than 20 lakh and covers a vast distribution area of 27920 Sq. Kms.
