‘Krushi Odisha-2024’ to kick start on Jan 12

With the aim to showcase the great potential of Odisha and huge investment opportunities in Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Processing, Fisheries & Animal Husbandry sectors in the State, the Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department of the State Government will be organising ‘Krushi Odisha-2024’ from January 12 to 14 at Janata Maidan, here.

The three-day event with the theme “Celebrating Women in Agriculture”  aims to recognize the contribution of women in the field of Agriculture & allied sectors and to initiate a platform for interface and linkage amongst women farmers, SHGs, women agri-entrepreneurs, market players, service providers, agri-preneurs (Industry) besides showcasing best products and practices of women farmers leading to farm profitability, informed State Agriculture Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain at a press conference here on Monday.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will grace the inaugural ceremony of Krushi Odisha-2024, he added.

The Minister further said that around 5000 women farmers, 2000 women SHGs, Agri-entrepreneurs from different corners of the state will participate in this event and successful women farmers and SHGs will be felicitated.

There will be 17 technical sessions in coordination with different State Govt Departments, Central Govt., ICAR institutes, CGIAR institutes, NGOs along with Farmer-Scientist interactions, seminars, Farmer Facilitation Centre, Experience Learning Centre, display of farm machineries, Exhibition Stalls on farm produces, felicitation of awardees for women farmers and women SHGs.

To make Krushi Odisha-2024 more meaningful, quizzes, lectures, experimental water game, local farmer songs, storytelling, postcard exchange, Farmer Facilitation Centre, and Experimental Learning Centre will be organised.

Progressive farmers, Agri-entrepreneurs and SHGs (FPOs) from all the 30 districts of the State who have shown their excellence in achieving successful farming modules will also be felicitated.

State Agriculture Department Principal Secretary  Arbinda Kumar Padhee, and Agriculture and Food Production Department Director Prem Chandra Chaudhary, also spoke on the occasion.

Horticulture Director Rohit Kumar Lenka and representatives from FICCI were also present on the occasion.
