NTPC Kaniha organises Energy Conservation Walkathon

A walkathon was organized by NTPC Talcher Kaniha on Friday to mark the National Energy Conservation Week.

The theme of the walkathon was “Save Energy, Save the Planet”. The event was flagged off at DAV School and culminated at Mahanadi Club.

Inaugurating the event, NTPC Talcher Kaniha ED K Srinivasa Rao spoke of NTPC Kaniha’s initiatives to save energy. He also urged everyone to contribute to this effort by taking small measures such as keeping light, fans and electrical appliances off when not in use.

Vijay Goel, GM(O&M), H  Chakraborty, GM (Maintenance), Sarit Maheshwari, GM (Ash Dyke Management), all departmental HoDs, K Swarnalatha Rao, President, Tanvi Sangam along with members of Tanvi Sangam, all union members, teachers and students of DAV School, KV School and Saraswati Sishu Mandir participated in the event.

Energy Conservation Week is celebrated annually from 8 to 14 December, under the Union Ministry of Power, to showcase India’s contribution to energy conservation and steps taken towards becoming an energy efficient nation.
