Paradip Port and Paradip Ladies Club celebrate International Women’s Day

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) joined hands with the Paradip Ladies Club to host a momentous event under the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”. The occasion, held at the Officers’ Club here, resonated with the spirit of empowerment and celebration of the contributions made by women in various spheres of life.

PPA Chairman PL Haranadh graced the event and highlighted the significant role played by the working women of Team PPA in propelling the port towards its vision of becoming India’s leading Major Port in cargo throughput for the current fiscal year. Emphasizing the importance of quality education for young girls in uplifting society, he lauded the efforts of the Working Women Cell of PPA in addressing women-related issues. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of women’s health, announcing plans for a special camp for cancer screening and the utilization of the newly launched Mobile Medical Unit.

As the Guest of Honour, PPA Deputy Chairman Nilabhra Dasgupta underscored the pivotal role of women, referring to them as the cornerstone of every society. He acknowledged the invaluable contributions made by women employees in the success of PPA.

The event featured enlightening discourses by distinguished guests. Dr. Shilpa Vinayak Gadade, a renowned Cardiologist, delivered insights into cardiac health, while Swati Mohapatra, a Dietician, elucidated on nutrition therapy for stress management. Both were honored for their exceptional contributions in their respective fields. Additionally, Chairman and Deputy Chairman of PPA felicitated women officers and employees who demonstrated excellence in their roles during the current fiscal year.

Adding a touch of inspiration and inclusivity, specially-abled girl children from Jagruti School captivated the audience with a mesmerizing dance performance. They were recognized and applauded for their talent and resilience.

Susmita Samal, Chairperson of the Working Women Cell at PPA, extended a warm welcome to all attendees. Dr. Runu Singh of PPA efficiently compered the program, while Itishree Mohanty delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions towards making the event a grand success.
