SAIL-run Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has bagged the prestigious 14th Kalinga Safety Excellence Award-2022 in Platinum category.
In the National Safety Conclave-2023 organized at Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, RSP Director In-Charge Atanu Bhowmick and GM Incharge (Safety) Asha Kartha received the award on behalf of the steel plant.
This award is a recognition of RSP’s commitment to enhancing productivity, occupational safety, health and environment.
Director General of Fire Services, Home Guards & Civil Defence Dr. Sudhanshu Sarangi presented the award in the presence of Chinese Consul General Zha Liyou, Odisha Labour and Employees’ State Insurance Department Secretary Santhanagopalan R, SAIL Independent Director Ashok Kumat Tripathy, Global Acting International Section of ISSA Germany President Prof. Karl-Heinz Noetel, Odisha State Labour Commissioner Anupam Saha and other dignitaries.
Besides, the Barsua Iron Ore Mines and Kalta Iron Ore Mines also won individual Kalinga Safety Excellence Awards in Gold category. ED (Mines) Alok Verma received the awards.
Notably, these awards were presented by the “Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services.
