Tata Power, spearheading six Discoms serving over 13 million consumers across diverse regions, has achieved top-tier rankings in the latest Consumer Service Ratings of DISCOMs (CSRD Report) released by the Ministry of Power.

The power distribution utilities operated by Tata Power in Delhi and Odisha have notably elevated their rankings in the third edition of the CSRD Report, reflecting a commendable commitment to consumer satisfaction and service excellence. Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, R. K. Singh, unveiled the report during the Review Planning & Monitoring (RPM) meeting of the power sector in New Delhi on January 18 and 19, 2024.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. (TPDDL), a collaboration between Tata Power and the Delhi Government, clinched the highest A+ rating among all 62 rated DISCOMs in the nation, reaffirming its status as a pioneering Discom in the country.

In Odisha, where Tata Power holds a majority stake, significant strides were witnessed across four Discoms. TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPCODL), TP Northern Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPNODL), and TP Western Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPWODL) all ascended to B+ ratings for FY2022-23, showcasing notable progress from the previous fiscal year. Similarly, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPSODL) improved to a B rating, with all Discoms achieving an A rating in operational reliability, a pivotal metric in determining overall performance.

Tata Power CEO & MD Dr. Praveer Sinha lauded the remarkable achievements, stating, “Our Discoms have demonstrated exceptional performance, as evidenced by their improved rankings in the CSRD Report for FY23. The stellar performance of Delhi Discom sets a national benchmark, while our Odisha Discoms are rapidly aligning with the same caliber of excellence, showcasing enhanced operational reliability and customer service. We take pride in our pivotal role in reshaping the distribution sector.”

In Mumbai, Tata Power Discom maintained its A+ rating in the operational reliability parameter, underscoring its unwavering commitment to service excellence.

Tata Power serves over 13 million consumers through its distribution ventures across New Delhi (Tata Power-DDL), Odisha (TP Western, TP Southern, TP Central, and TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited), and Ajmer (TP Ajmer Distribution Limited), positioning itself at the forefront of India’s pursuit of energy stability and a sustainable future.

The CSRD Report, introduced in 2021 as an annual rating exercise, meticulously evaluates DISCOMs/ Power Departments based on four key parameters: Operational Reliability; Connection & Other Services; Metering, Billing & Collection; and Fault Rectification & Grievance Redressal.
