TPCODL champions health and wellness on World Health Day, undertakes vital initiatives for employee and community well-being

BHUBANESWAR, APRIL 09, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) underscores the paramount importance of health and well-being in commemoration of World Health Day. This year, as the World Health Organization (WHO) observes its 76th anniversary, the theme ‘My Health, My Right’ resonates, emphasizing access to quality healthcare, education, and information as fundamental human rights.

In alignment with this global commitment to health equity, TPCODL has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at fostering health and wellness across its operational domains.

Throughout the fiscal year 2023-24, TPCODL conducted 17 comprehensive sessions of First Aid training, benefiting 379 employees across key areas including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal. Additionally, the company organized Health Awareness Camps via Mobile Health Dispensaries (MHD) in four strategic circles: Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Paradeep, and BBSR-2. These camps provided free health check-ups and services to an impressive tally of beneficiaries, covering 1774 gram panchayats, 2627 villages, and a total of 112,302 individuals.

Moreover, TPCODL facilitated Executive Health Check-ups at 86 locations, ensuring 3804 employees received essential health assessments. Approximately 3000 Business Associates (BA) underwent rigorous medical fitness checks, safeguarding their well-being.

Furthermore, the company orchestrated various health awareness events, including internal sessions on World Heart Day featuring expert insights on cardiovascular health, and external talks on heart attack prevention delivered by esteemed cardiologists. These endeavors underscore TPCODL’s unwavering commitment to instilling a culture of health and well-being among its workforce and the broader communities it serves.
