TPCODL’s Daksh Programme empowers Odisha’s youth with market-ready skills

BHUBANESWAR, APRIL 21, 2024 (TBB BUREAU):  Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) is taking strides in youth empowerment through its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) endeavor, the Daksh programme. This initiative focuses on providing market-ready skill training to rural youth in Odisha, aiming to create avenues for meaningful employment and entrepreneurship.

Recently, TPCODL celebrated a milestone with the convocation ceremony for the inaugural batch of 120 trainees from the Daksh Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Centre at Biju Patnaik Institute for Training of Trainers, Talcher. This event underscored the company’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering opportunities for the youth of Odisha.

During the ceremony, TPCODL facilitated job offers to successful candidates through program implementing agencies, laying the foundation for promising career paths. Moreover, a photobook highlighting the impactful journeys and success stories of Daksh trainees was unveiled, showcasing TPCODL’s comprehensive approach to youth development.

The Daksh programme offers courses in facility management and plumbing assistance, aligning with TPCODL’s CSR policy aimed at empowering communities through education, skill enhancement, and employability.

TPCODL CEO Arvind Singh reiterated the company’s commitment to youth empowerment and skill development, emphasizing the importance of equipping youth with the necessary skills to thrive in today’s competitive landscape. The Daksh programme, he said, exemplifies TPCODL’s dedication to stimulating the local economy and cultivating a skilled workforce crucial for driving socio-economic growth in Odisha.
