Premium cricket
gaming is set to become more accessible to Indian consumers with Cricket 26 –
The Official Game of the Ashes now available on JioGames as part of its
subscription-based JioGames Pro Pass.
The move brings the Ashes
cricket title to a cloud gaming platform that is compatible with users across
mobile and broadband operators, allowing gamers to stream the premium title
without having to make a separate purchase or invest in dedicated gaming
hardware.
Jio users will be
eligible for an exclusive Rs 100 discount on select Pro Pass plans, bringing
the effective entry point for eligible plans down to Rs 298. For non-Jio users,
subscription plans start at Rs 48, followed by options priced at Rs 98 and Rs
398. Gamers can also opt for a one-year Pro Pass bundled with a gaming
controller.
Cricket 26 can be
played through the JioGames App and browser across a range of devices,
including desktops and laptops through Chrome, Android and iOS smartphones, Jio
Set-Top Boxes and Android TVs.
Traditionally,
accessing premium cricket gaming titles has required consumers to purchase the
game and, in many cases, invest in compatible gaming hardware. JioGames seeks
to alter that model by offering Cricket 26 through a subscription and cloud-based
streaming, potentially lowering the entry barrier for users seeking a high-end
gaming experience.
The platform brings
together gaming content, hardware, devices and subscription-based access under
a single ecosystem, with the aim of making gaming more accessible to consumers
across the country.
Cricket 26 offers a broad range of gameplay features, including Management Career, an expanded Ashes mode, Pro Team, multiplayer options and an Academy creation suite. The title also features enhanced batting and gameplay mechanics designed to provide a more comprehensive cricket experience.
With cricket enjoying a massive following in India, the arrival of a premium cricket title on a subscription-based cloud gaming platform marks another development in the country's evolving gaming landscape, potentially opening up high-end cricket gaming to a wider consumer base.
