In a significant achievement, KIIT Deemed to be University has been ranked the 6th best university in India among all public and private institutions in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2026. The university has also emerged as the highest-ranked institution in Odisha and across the entire eastern region of the country. Notably, KIIT had secured the 8th position nationally in the 2025 rankings.

On the Asian stage, KIIT has continued its impressive upward trajectory, climbing to 169th place in 2026 from 184th in 2025 and 196th in 2024.

The THE Asia University Rankings 2026 evaluated 929 universities from 36 countries, based on a comprehensive set of performance indicators across five key pillars — teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry engagement.

This recognition is particularly noteworthy as KIIT, despite being a relatively young institution, has surpassed several long-established and reputed universities in the region and across the country.

Expressing his delight, Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, said the ranking reflects the unwavering dedication and collective efforts of KIIT’s faculty, staff, and students in pursuing academic excellence. He noted that the university’s strong focus on internationalisation, innovation, and research has enabled it to build a globally competitive academic ecosystem, further strengthening its stature as a premier institution of higher learning in India and beyond.
