Gymnastics High Performance Centre (GHPC) athlete Karishma delivered a standout
performance on the international stage, winning the silver medal in the Women’s
Artistic Gymnastics Floor Exercise at the Pharaohs Cup 2026 held from September
17 to 20 at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.
Recognised by the International
Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and organised by the Egyptian Gymnastics Federation
(EGF), the Pharaohs Cup brought together 160 gymnasts from 30 sporting entities
across 13 countries, including India, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya,
Malta, South Africa, Uzbekistan, New Zealand, Ukraine, Sudan and Hong Kong
(China).
Karishma and fellow
Odisha AM/NS India GHPC athlete Tannu represented India at the competition,
gaining valuable international exposure while testing themselves against
gymnasts from diverse sporting backgrounds.
Karishma produced a
composed performance in the Floor Exercise, scoring 12.100 in qualification to
book her place in the final. She raised the bar on the decisive day,
registering 12.066 in the final to secure the silver medal.
Her podium finish
marks an important milestone in her international career and underlines the progress
being made through sustained training, specialised coaching and international
competition exposure at the Odisha AM/NS India GHPC. Karishma also advanced to
the Balance Beam final, further highlighting her all-round capabilities.
The Odisha duo also
featured in the Uneven Bars final. In qualification, Tannu scored 10.050, while
Karishma recorded 8.900. Both gymnasts showed resilience in the final and
improved their scores, with Karishma registering 10.666 and Tannu 10.066.
Their performances
across multiple events provided the young athletes with valuable experience of
competing at an international level and offered an important benchmark for
their ongoing preparation.

The Pharaohs Cup 2026 thus adds another significant milestone to the growing international journey of athletes from the Odisha AM/NS India GHPC. Based in Bhubaneswar, the centre focuses on nurturing high-performance gymnasts through specialised coaching, quality training infrastructure and comprehensive athlete support, with the aim of preparing Indian gymnasts to compete successfully at national and international levels.
