Laura Williams, Consul General
of the United States Consulate General in Hyderabad, concluded a two-day visit
to KIIT and KISS, during which she toured the campuses and engaged extensively
with students, faculty, and senior officials.
Deeply impressed by the unique
model of free, holistic education offered to tribal children at the Kalinga
Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Williams lauded the institution's
pioneering role in empowering indigenous communities through education. She
highly appreciated the visionary leadership of KISS Founder Dr Achyuta Samanta
and described the institution's contribution to tribal development as truly
inspiring.
During her interaction with
KISS students, Williams commended their confidence, aspirations, and
achievements. She remarked that the work being carried out by Dr Samanta
through KISS for tribal empowerment stands as an exemplary model of inclusive
development and social transformation.
On Friday morning, Dr Samanta
paid a courtesy visit to Williams and presented her with a book authored by
him. In a warm gesture, Williams reciprocated by gifting him a book.
Throughout her visit, Williams
was accompanied by KIIT Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh, Pro
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raju K. D, Registrar J. R. Mohanty, and other senior
officials.
The visit further reinforced
KIIT and KISS's growing global recognition as institutions committed to
educational excellence, social inclusion, and sustainable community
development.
