In a thrilling final, Team Sundergarh Snipers beat Kedargouri Knights Team by 17 runs to win the Dalmia T-10 Short Boundary Cricket League championship trophy.
The final match of the tournament was played at Veer Birsa Stadium of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited here on Saturday.
Batting first, Sundergarh Snipers score 74 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated 10 overs. Chasing 75 for victory, Kedargouri Nights could manage to score only 57 runs in the allotted overs, and had to remain satisfied with the runners-up trophy.
Abhishek Singh was adjudged “Man of the Match”, while Biswajit Jena was awarded with the “Man of the Series” trophy for his all round performance throughout the championship.
Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited Rajgangpur Unit Head –Finance Prakash Agarwal and Head-Technical Sandeep Burma graced the closing ceremony as guests and presented trophies to the winners.
As many as 10 teams from the Rajgangpur Unit of the Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited participated in the short format of cricket match, which kick started on May 24.
All the players along with the support staff were felicitated at the end of the final match.
In a bid to raise environmental awareness, the players participating in the tournament planted around 250 saplings near the stadium before the final match.
