International Gem & Jewellery Show in Jaipur attracts global buyers

JAIPUR, APRIL 12, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): The Gem Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is hosting the third edition of the International Gem & Jewellery Show (IGJS) in Jaipur from April 12-14, drawing the participation of 250 buyers from 27 countries.

Buyers from diverse nations including Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, Ukraine, the UK, the US, and Uzbekistan have converged in Jaipur for the event, according to officials.

Vipul Shah, Chairman of GJEPC, highlighted the significant role of India’s gem and jewellery industry as a global leader, contributing substantially to the world market with annual exports amounting to $40 billion and supporting the employment of over five million individuals.

Shah reiterated the council’s commitment to fostering robust international trade relations between India and global markets, exemplified through initiatives like IGJS and the facilitation of opportunities for exporters through participation in international events.

The IGJS, conceptualized to showcase the best of India to the world, is held annually in Dubai and Jaipur exclusively for a global audience. The show serves as a curated gathering of India’s top gem and jewellery manufacturers and exporters, aligning with GJEPC’s vision to establish India as the preferred source for world-class gems and jewellery.
