With the objective of providing skill training and employment opportunities to the local youth, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited in collaboration with Bhubaneswar-based LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) launched a program to facilitate Vision Technician training to unemployed youth from land-oustees’ families.
For Vision Technician (VT) training, the company has identified unemployed youth from Lanjiberna, Jolodihi, Kheramuta, Jhagarpur, Alanda and Keshramal villages.
The youths will undergo training at LVEPI Eye Hospital, Bhubaneswar, and its affiliated centers located in different parts of Odisha. During the training, all trainees will receive a monthly stipend. This apart, LVPEI will provide accommodation and food facilities for these trainees in the first year of training. After completion of training, they will be employed as Vision Technicians at LVPEI Eye Hospital in Odisha with a monthly salary of 14000.
The selected youth moved for Bhubaneswar on February21, 2022 along with their parents and a few village leaders of the respective villages for which the company has arranged vehicle and food support along with other usable goodies.
The local community has strongly endorsed such gracious effort of the company which could pave the way towards eliminating unemployment issues in the area significantly, thereby bringing a visible transformation in lives and livelihoods of the people dwelling in the area.
In anticipation of the benefits of the program, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited [DCBL] authorities have planned to train 50 trainees from the families affected by land acquisition, at Dalmia Institute of Knowledge & Skill Harnessing (DIKSHa), Lanjiberna center in March.

Dr. Niladri Bhusan Parhi, AED (CSR, LA, R&R and SM); Balram Panda, Sr. GM (HR); and Dinesh Singh Panwar, General Manager (Mines) were also present at the event and interacted with the candidates and their parents at Lanjiberna Mines office and laid focus on various gracious endeavours undertaken by DCBL for the wellbeing of the local community. The company has assured that representatives of the company will be in touch with the trainees throughout their training period to help them in case of any need.
