Gopalpur Port’s mobile health check-up camp benefits over 300 patients

CHHATRAPUR, AUGUST 6, 2022

         As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Gopalpur Ports Ltd. (GPL) organised a mobile health check-up camp at the Government Upper Primary School in Kalipali Gram Panchayat with an aim to provide quality healthcare to people living in the port periphery.

Over 300 people from different villages under the panchayat participated in the camp and discussed with the doctors about various health issues free of cost. Free medicines were also distributed among the villagers.

The villagers, elected representatives and intellectuals hailed the efforts of the port authorities in ensuring better healthcare of people in the region.

Inaugurating the mobile health camp, Gopalpur Ports Limited Chief Executive Officer VJ Rao said, “Gopalpur Port is always committed to ensuring the good health of the people living in the port periphery. We are happy to contribute back to the community under our CSR platform.”

Vice President (HR/IR) Ajay Kumar Mishra informed that the Corporate Social Responsibility program would be accelerated and more care would be taken towards education and environmental protection of the port periphery.

On this occasion, a health awareness street play prepared by the staff of Gopalpur Port was performed. In this play, the audience was told how to stay away from superstitions, what to do in case of any health issues, and how to keep their surroundings clean in case of health problems.

The port authorities said that they are committed to provide better healthcare facilities to people residing in the port periphery.

Recently, the Port authorities had inaugurated a health check-up lab for the benefit of the people in the area under its CSR initiative.
