JSW Foundation inaugurates first trauma care center in western Odisha

In a pivotal move aimed at bolstering healthcare services in Jharsuguda, JSW Foundation, as part of its CSR endeavours through JSW BPSL Sambalpur Works, unveiled a Trauma Care Center on Monday, at the District Headquarter Hospital. This groundbreaking initiative, a collaboration between JSW Foundation and the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha, marks the first Trauma Care Center established in District Headquarter Hospitals in Western Odisha.

Dignitaries present at the inauguration ceremony included Deepali Das, MLA, Jharsuguda; Anil Kumar Singh, President & Whole Time Director of JSW BPSL; Aboli Sunil Naravane, Collector & District Magistrate, Jharsuguda; Parmar Smit Parshottam Das, Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda; and Dr. Mahesh Mohan Panda, COM & PHO, Jharsuguda.

The Trauma Care Facility, equipped with 10 beds, represents a significant stride towards mitigating the impact of road accidents in the region. By providing timely and expert care to accident victims, the center aims not only to save lives but also to minimize the severity of injuries sustained during such incidents. The facility is outfitted with advanced medical equipment including a Modular Operation Theatre, ultrasound, CR system, anaesthesia machine, and digital X-ray, among others.

Anil Kumar Singh underscored the importance of healthcare services and expressed optimism that the Trauma Care Center would serve as a beacon of hope for the people of Jharsuguda and neighboring areas. He also noted that the initiative was initiated 1.5 years ago in consultation with Late Naba Kishore Das, Former Health and Family Welfare Minister of Odisha, and expressed satisfaction that Deepali Das, MLA, Jharsuguda, inaugurated the setup.

Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane thanked JSW Foundation for their generous contribution and emphasized the potential impact of such CSR initiatives in strengthening public healthcare infrastructure.

Deepali Das commended the efforts of JSW Foundation and JSW BPSL Sambalpur Works for their continuous support towards societal betterment.

Dr. Mahesh Mohan Panda highlighted the collaborative efforts between the CSR Team of JSW BPSL and District Administration in establishing the first Trauma Care Center in any District Hospitals of Western Odisha.

The inauguration ceremony included a tour of the facility, showcasing the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. The establishment of this Trauma Care Center signifies a significant milestone in the healthcare landscape of Jharsuguda, promising a safer and healthier future for its residents.
